Depression has many meanings in different fields such as meteorology, geography and economics. No mention of them in this article, we simply talk of depression in the field of psychiatry and psychology.

Depression is a mental disorder, repenting loss of pleasure or interest, feelings of low selfesteem or guitly, depressed mood, appetite and disturbed sleep, lack of concentration or low energy. They could become recurrent or chronic, leading to significant damage to a person's ability to take regular responsibilities. In the worst cases, depression can lead to tragic death or suicide.

In psychiatry and psychology fields depression applies to both chronic and severe pathological or expected level of feeling of helplessness, sadness, loss of pleasure or interest and other related behavior and emotions.
